1.  Acts must meet one the following entry criteria:  

• Born or educated in Scotland .

• Resided in Scotland for more than six consecutive months.

• Married to someone Scottish.

• Have at least 1 Scottish Parent, Grandmother or Grandfather.

 2.      Acts must perform their own, original, material.  

3.      Acts must stick to the allotted time for each round.

·        For the Heats the acts can perform a maximum 7minute set.

·        In the Semi Finals and Final, the acts can perform a maximum 10 minute set.

Please note that Failure to adhere to competition rule 2 or 3 will result in either points being deducted from audience voting or elimination from the competition. Ha Ha Comedy Promoters will decide what action to take in each separate case, and will take any action that they see fit, either at the heat or afterwards.

4.      Acts must be available to perform, if required, in one of the heats, one of the Semi Finals and the Grand Final.

5.      In all cases the Ha Ha Comedy Promoters reserve the right to make any decision they deem necessary, and each case will be judged on its own merits. Any decision the Ha Ha Comedy promoters and their representatives make is final. Ha Ha Comedy reserve the right to amend the format of the competition if necessary.

6.      The winner, runner up and 3^rd place of each heat will be decided by an audience vote. These three acts will then proceed to a semi final. In the event of a tie between two acts for third place at a heat both will advance to the semi finals.

7.   Ha Ha Comedy will allocate semi final places to the three best unplaced acts (in Ha Ha Comedy's opinion) from across the heats.

8.  In the semi finals the winner and runner up of each semi final will be decided by an audience vote. The third qualification spot will be decided by a panel of independent judges selected by Ha Ha Comedy.

9.      Three acts per semi final will go through to the Final.  

10.The final will be judged by a team of industry professionals chosen by Ha Ha Comedy.

11. Entrants consent to being filmed and recorded by Ha Ha Comedy where required for the Campaign and for films or recordings made pursuant to this rule being used by Ha Ha Comedy for broadcast via any media established now or in the future. You agree that we can use any materials that you send us as part of your entry into the Competition (such as photographs, film and video footage and voice recordings). You also agree that we can use any materials (including photographs, film and video footage and voice recordings) that we create which feature you in any way (including any materials in which your image and/or your performance is captured). We will call the materials sent to us by you and those created by us in connection with this Competition "the Materials".

12. Entrants, by entering waive in favour of the Ha Ha Comedy and those authorised by it any so-called “moral rights” they may have in relation to  the Materials to us. You also provide us with all necessary consents and waivers (including a waiver or your moral rights in the Materials) in relation to the Materials to the fullest extent possible. You agree that we can use the Materials without restriction throughout the world in our own media products  and in other media products not owned or run by Ha Ha Comedy. We have the right to adapt the Materials (including editing, deleting, duplicating etc) for use in the media products and to transfer the Materials into different media formats.

13. By entering the Competition, you grant us all consents which may be required for the exploitation of Materials by us and other third parties, including consent under Part II of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 relating to your performers' rights in any Materials and consent for us to use your name, likeness, voice and appearance. You acknowledge that no sums shall be payable to you by us for use of the Materials.

14. Entry to the Competition by Entrants is done at their own risk. Attendance by Entrants at any Event staged by Ha Ha Comedy and travel to and from any such Event is also at the Entrant's own risk and expense and the Ha Ha Comedy accepts no responsibility or liability in this regard.

15.  You agree that to the extent allowed by law, neither Ha Ha Comedy nor any of its agents or employees shall have any liability to you for any reason arising out of or connected in any way with the Competition.

16.  By taking part in the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Ts and Cs. Any breach of these Ts & Cs by any entrant may result in forfeiture of their prize.

Whilst every attempt will be made to fit you into a heat that is easiest for you to travel to, this may not always be possible. Early entry is advisable if you need to get to a specific heat.
